If you like a good meal in the morning or early afternoon, you have to check out Denver-s top brunch spots. There is nothing better than sitting down with your friends and family and having eggs Benedict or a chili cheese omelet.

You can choose from organic family style restaurants that feature bacon and eggs and strawberry pancakes or go for something more eclectic like a smoked salmon omelet or chocolate waffles. Spice up your Saturday or Sunday and try a Mexican style brunch. You can have meals like pulled pork Benedict or lobster deviled eggs served with cilantro coulis and crispy pancetta. Start things off right with an oyster shooter and guacamole prepared right at your table. Head over to a French Bistro and sample a smoked salmon omelet and a mouth watering gourmet wrap with eggs, cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, ham and oven roasted potatoes. If buffets are more you style there are plenty of options, but remember to bring your appetite, you are going to want to try a little bit of everything. Traditionalists can choose from biscuits and gravy, steak and eggs, huevos Rancheros or French toast.

Call one of Denver-s top brunch spots today and start sipping champagne tomorrow.

Once you’ve found internet service that beats dialup at home use it to map your way through the great state and don’t forget to try at least one version of the following while you’re here
Beer: Colorado’s known for its breweries, and for good reason. Coors is here as well as about a hundred great microbreweries and you can find any taste from IPA to draught if you look hard enough. A great brewery’s only a few steps away when you’re in CO.
Beef: Colorado’s known for its steak and that’s because some of the world’s best angus roam here. Try Elway’s in Denver for a world-class meal or head to more of a hole in the wall to taste some of the most tender grass fed beef you’ve ever had.
Rocky Mountain Oysters: If you don’t already know what these are, don’t ask. Simply sit back, order them fried and get a lot of ketchup. You’re going to need it.

The Great American Beer Festival is held in Denver, and is the biggest beer festival of it’s kind in the United States. Micro-brewery tours are a great way to spend your day, and there are plenty to choose from.

Bristol Brewing, in Colorado Springs, has been around since 1994. One of it’s most popular beers is Laughing Lab, a deep red Scottish Ale that has won gold, silver, and bronze medals for best in its category. They are open till 9:00 Monday through Friday, and until 6:00 on Sunday.

Wynkoop Brewing Company is Colorado’s oldest brewpub, having opened in 1988. Housed in an 1888 building and known for it’s pool hall, Wynkoop Brewery hosts the fanciest banquets, meetings, and festivals. Some of Wynkoop’s famous ales are Rail Yard Ale, a thick malt that is slightly fruity. This ale is now available at all Denver Broncos home games. Tut’s Royal Gold, a King Tut inspired beer, has finally been tapped. This Egyptian Ale is infused with honey, wheat, rose petals, tamarind, and many more exotic flavors.

Located in downtown Denver, EDGE restaurant and bar offers diners a delightful dining experience. With a spacious bar that has more of a lounge feel as well as a friendly and attentive staff, Edge can accommodate the drinks and appetizer crowd along with those looking for a full meal. There is a daily happy hour from five to seven thirty with four dollar appetizers and three dollar beers. During happy hour there is also a five dollar wine selection.
Offering an American Steak house menu, where steaks are made to order, Edge is perfect for a first date or anniversary. The dining atmosphere is definitely more upscale and not really the best place for children or family dining. However there is a takeout menu for those who want amazing food from the comfort of their home or hotel room.
Open until two am on Friday and Saturday and midnight every other night, it’s a perfect place to grab a meal after a movie or play. Valet parking is offered for those that drive. Edge is great for group dining and just right for office parties and business dinners. The restaurant also opens at six thirty just in time for breakfast.

When people think of Colorado, the first thoughts that jump into their minds are the Rocky Mountains and a plethora of outdoor activities. Of course, both of those things are what Colorado is known for, but the Hearthstone Restaurant may start topping the list of reasons to visit Colorado.

Nestled at the feet of the Rocky Mountains, the Hearthstone Restaurant in Breckinridge, Colorado, is an elegant fine dining experience. The restaurant occupies an old world, Victorian-era home remodeled to accompany everyone with a taste for perfectly cooked meals. Locally, the home is known as the Kaiser house.

Built in 1880, the Kaiser house was originally occupied by a German immigrant named Christ Kaiser. Over the years, many other restaurants have resided in the Kaiser house, but only Hearthstone Restaurant belongs there.

This award winning restaurant is known for its attention to detail, serving up impeccable dishes of hand cut steaks, game, and fresh seafood all prepared with local herbs and spices. There is also a gluten-free menu available to those that want fine dining without worry.

Hearthstone restaurant is changing all the arguments to visit Colorado. Instead of instantly thinking of all the outdoor activities, many may start thinking of this sophisticated, fine dining experience.

With a current head count of approximately 500,000 in the United States, bison (or buffalo) are no longer in danger of extinction. In fact, bison meat is quickly pacing beef in regard to taste; but in addition the “original red meat” offers value since nutritionally it provides more protein and nutrients with fewer calories and less fat that its beef counterpart. It is also more dense and as a result of that quality alone it tends to satisfy hunger while consuming less.Bison are handled as little as possible and allowed to spend their time freely in open range enjoying wild grass much as they have always done. They spend very little time in a feedlot and are not subjected to suspect drugs, hormones, or chemicals. In fact, the National Bison Association (NBA) feel so strongly about this that they have a resolution in place that opposes the use of these substances in all instances when raising bison for consumption. If you want specific nutrient information as compared to other meats, here it is. Bison meat contains 2.42 grams of fat, 143 calories, and 82 milligrams of cholesterol per 100 grams of cooked lean meat. By comparison beef contains 9.28 grams of fat, 211 calories, and 86 milligrams of cholesterol; pork contains 9.66 grams of fat, 212 calories, 86 milligrams of cholesterol; and chicken (skinless) contains 7.41 grams of fat, 190 calories, 89 milligrams of cholesterol. Did you notice the difference between bison and chicken with regard to fat grams? Pretty astounding, wouldn’t you agree? This alternative to beef is growing fast and strong as evidenced by a record year in 2010 when the NBA recorded its strongest year on record with regard to the industry. With bison being a natural part of the North American ecosystem we believe that anyone interested in Colorado cuisine should keep tabs on the diversity of this “original” red meat. Ask for it at your local grocer, favorite restaurant from Sterling to Grand Junction, or check the NBA for purchasing sources near you.

Larimer Square (located in the most historic block of downtown Denver) is a great spot for restaurants, clubs, and shopping. Three of our favorite restaurants along the intriguing block of history are highlighted.Ted’s Montana Grill (1401 Larimer Square) was founded by media mogul and environmentalist Ted Turner, and it’s Turner’s own laid-back attitude that transcends into his restaurant with offerings such as Bison Meatloaf, Cedar Plank Salmon, and St. Philip’s Island Crab Cakes. And since Turner is the consummate environmentalist, you can bet this translates into the restaurant as well since it boasts paper straws, cups made of quickly degrading cornstarch and all soft drinks served out of glass bottles only.Bistro Vendome (1420 Larimer Square) is named after the Place Vendome located in the heart of Paris and this warm inviting bistro replicates exactly what you might find in the City of Lights. The restaurant boasts a seasonally-changing menu crafted by executive chef Jennifer Jasinski who offers a diverse array of bistro classics, including Noix de Saint Jacques Grillz (grilled scallops) and Confit de Canard (duck confit.)Osteria Marco (1453 Larimer Square) offers up hand-crafted meats and artisanal cheeses that are made on the premises to exacting standards under the direction of famed chef Frank Bonanno. The food is prepared in the style known as “dry Italian” which in essence means without the heavy sauces traditionally linked with Americanized Italian food. Choose from such delights as Lamb Meatballs, Pork Ossobuco , Pan Roasted Grouper, and Butternut Squash pizza.

The Briarwood Inn, nestled beautifully in the foothills of Golden, Colorado has been a part of the region’s dining royalty for over thirty years. Not only is its setting idyllic, but everything about a dining experience at this fine dining tradition is spectacular.Diners are served a complimentary Briarwood appetizer tray which is a stunning compilation of fresh gulf shrimp, duck and chicken liver pate, smoked salmon butter, olive tempenade, blended cheddar cheese with port wine, and spinach and water chestnut mousseline for dipping. Sounds like a meal in and of itself, doesn’t it?Well, you better make sure you’ve saved room for some of the incredible entrees like Tournedoes “Excelsior” (filets of beef gently sauted in butter and shallots atop golden eggplant rounds and served with a Bernaise and Bordelaise sauce) or Duck a l’Amaretto (tender duckling seared until crispy then carefully roasted and glazed with an Amaretto sauce and sprinkled with almonds). Sounds pretty amazing, wouldn’t you agree? And if you started your meal off with one of the restaurant’s signature cocktails like a French Martini or a Mountain Mojito, perhaps you’d like to cap it off with one of their port, bourbon, or cognac selections.
